An Iowa jury ruled Thursday that Bush Hog Inc. and other companies had not infringed Deere & Co.'s patent covering rotary cutters and that the patent was invalid, rejecting Deere's demand for up to $16 million in damages.

An Iowa federal judge on Monday dismissed a patent suit brought by tractor maker Deere & Co. against rivals Bush Hog LLC and Great Plains Manufacturing Inc., overriding the defendants' request that the court first determine the validity of the Deere patent.
