Otis Elevator Co. will not get a new trial in a case in which a jury found it had infringed an elevator system patent held by a Schindler Elevator Corp. unit, a New York federal judge ruled Friday.

A New York federal judge on Monday permanently enjoined Otis Elevator Co. from producing, selling, installing or importing elevator systems that a jury found to infringe a patent held by Schindler Elevator Corp.'s unit Inventio AG.

Schindler Elevator Corp. unit Inventio AG announced Tuesday that a New York federal court had upheld a jury verdict finding that Otis Elevator Co.'s elevator installations infringed its patent for a personalized elevator control system.
