Flambeau Mining Co. on Wednesday asked a Wisconsin federal judge to toss out environmental groups' case against it, saying the conservationists have failed to prove that potentially toxic discharge from a Flambeau-operated mine reached waterways in violation of the Clean Water Act.

Mining Co. Must Face CWA Suit Over Contaminants
A Wisconsin federal judge ruled Friday that Flambeau Mining Co. dumped copper and other contaminants from a now-reclaimed mine targeted by two environmental groups, but decided to send to trial the question of whether the pollutants reached a nearby stream.
