Microsoft Corp. might have been negligent in its loss of the source code for software that allegedly infringed a Robocast Inc. Web browser patent, but the technology giant didn't willfully destroy evidence or deserve to be sanctioned, a Delaware federal judge ruled on Tuesday.

New York-based software company Robocast Inc. is taking Microsoft Corp. to court, accusing the technology giant of appropriating Robocast's patented automated browsing tools in developing Bing and Windows Vista.
