    Gunn Doesn't Boot Malpractice Suit To State Court, Firms Say

    Two law firms that GemEx Systems Inc. and UGTS Inc. had sued for malpractice, alleging they neglected to renew a patent, told a federal judge Wednesday that the case should not return to state court despite the U.S. Supreme Court's Gunn v. Minton ruling because, if the suit were remanded, a state court would be resolving patent questions that are outside its jurisdiction.
