Hypercom Denied New Trial In $2M Infringement Suit
A Texas federal judge on Monday refused to grant a new trial to payment technology company Hypercom Corp., which had been ordered to pay rival CardSoft Inc. more than $2.2 million after a jury found it had infringed two of CardSoft's patents for secure electronic communications, saying there was adequate evidence to support the jury's verdict.

VeriFone Takes $15.4M Hit In CardSoft Patent Verdict
VeriFone Inc. is expected to pay $15.4 million in damages after a Texas federal jury found that the company's secure payment processing technology infringed patents owned by rival CardSoft Inc., according to information filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday.
