National Union Fire Insurance Co. of Pittsburgh on Tuesday successfully fended off claims brought by security systems provider ADT Holdings Inc. for coverage of $34 million in damages awarded in suits over an inadequately maintained warehouse burglary alarm system.

Tyco International Ltd. on Thursday hit Chartis Inc. and National Union Fire Insurance Co. with a breach of contract suit, accusing the insurers of failing to cover $33 million in damages awarded in underlying actions against a former subsidiary.
