The operators of DVD-streaming service Zediva have agreed to pay six major movie studios $1.8 million and stop showing the studios' movies without permission to settle a California copyright infringement suit, the Motion Picture Association of America said Friday.

A California federal judge handed Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. and five other major movie studios a preliminary injunction Monday in their suit accusing the DVD streaming service Zediva of violating their copyrights by operating without studio licensing agreements for the films.
