The federal government on Friday asked a D.C. federal court to order a home health care provider to pay $2 million for allegedly defrauding Medicaid and also called for imprisonment of the company's president as punishment for not turning over financial information about the company's ability to pay any penalties.

A D.C. federal judge on Tuesday held in contempt a home health agency accused of defrauding Medicaid, finding that it repeatedly flouted discovery obligations in False Claims Act litigation and has forfeited a number of defenses as a result.
