A California federal judge tossed a putative antitrust class action over multimedia messaging brought by multimedia content owners and producers against AT&T Mobility LLC, Verizon Wireless and others Thursday, finding that the plaintiffs lacked standing to bring antitrust claims against participants in a different market.

Attorneys for AT&T Mobility LLC, Verizon Wireless and other carriers urged a federal judge Monday to throw out an antitrust class action over multimedia messaging, saying there was no showing that they had conspired to exclude digital rights management from their technical standards.
