A New York federal judge on Monday tossed a putative class action against Dow Jones & Co., ruling that the media company did not breach a contract with online subscribers of The Wall Street Journal when it stopped providing free access to Barron's Online.

Dow Jones & Co. Inc. on Monday said two class actions in New York brought by Wall Street Journal online subscribers should be tossed for failing to specify how the company breached a contract when it stopped providing free access to Barron's Online.
