Xcel Energy has inked a deal with Sinclair Oil Corp. to drop all claims from the energy giant that Xcel conspired with others in the industry to fix the price of natural gas in the early 2000s, according to an order filed Thursday in the long-running multidistrict litigation in Nevada federal court.

A Nevada federal judge on Monday awarded $16.3 million in attorneys’ fees to representatives for gas buyer classes in three states, including Polsinelli PC, and released four energy companies from multidistrict litigation over price-fixing in the 2000s after they’d reached a $42.8 million settlement with the groups.
