Beef Co. Pays $1.3M Over Neb. River Pollution
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Nebraska slapped a beef company with $1.3 million in civil penalties Thursday, alleging that its Grand Island, Neb., slaughterhouse contaminated a nearby river with blood, ammonia, oil and other pollutants.
