A federal jury in Chicago has found that Samsung Electronics Co Ltd. did not infringe a patent owned by Cascades Computer Innovation LLC, a nonpracticing entity led by former Jenner & Block LLP partner Anthony Brown, who has been described as "the original patent troll."

Samsung, HTC Say Google License Prohibits Android IP Suit
Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. and HTC Corp. urged an Illinois federal judge on Tuesday to nix a patent infringement suit brought by Cascades Computer Innovation LLC over their use of Google's Android operating system, claiming Cascades exhausted its patent rights by entering into a licensing agreement with Google.
