The Goldman Sachs Group Inc. on Tuesday successfully defeated a lawsuit brought by a Leap Wireless International shareholder who claimed the investment bank owed the company for nearly $2 million in short-swing trade profits of Leap derivatives.

A Leap Wireless International Inc. shareholder filed a lawsuit on the wireless carrier's behalf against Goldman Sachs Group Inc. in New York on Wednesday alleging the investment bank made a nearly $2 million profit on short-swing trades of Leap derivatives.
