TWi Awarded $12.7M In Bonds In Appetite Drug Patent Suit
A Maryland federal judge has ruled that TWi Pharmaceuticals Inc. may recover $12.7 million from bonds that Par Pharmaceutical Inc. and Alkermes Pharma Ireland Ltd. posted in a case in which the court twice invalidated the asserted claims of their patent covering a weight loss-combating drug.

Par Pharma Loses Bid To Keep Appetite Drug Patent
A Maryland federal judge on Friday shut down Par Pharmaceutical Inc.'s bid to keep for itself its formula for a drug that combats anorexia and extreme weight loss in patients with AIDS, finding that the company's invention was obvious in light of previous drug developments.
