Countrywide Wants Judge To Boot Insurers' MBS Claims
Countrywide Financial Corp. asked a California federal judge Wednesday to dismiss allegations in multidistrict litigation that it misled two insurer investors by failing to properly transfer title to properties backing up hundreds of millions in toxic mortgage-backed securities.

Countrywide Tries To Knock Down Insurers' MBS Claims
An attorney for Countrywide Financial Corp. asked a federal judge Monday to dismiss two insurers' suits in multidistrict litigation over the purchase of hundreds of millions in toxic mortgage-backed securities, saying alleged federal securities violations tracked similar claims thrown out in earlier suits.
