A California federal judge on Friday ended a former Walgreen Co. employee's suitable seating case, ruling Friday she couldn't sue the company for labor violations after getting paid her portion of a $23 million settlement in another case.

Walgreens Wants Deal Enforced Due To Worker's PAGA Suit
Walgreens asked a California federal judge Tuesday to reopen a wage-and-hour class action it settled several years ago for $23 million so he can enforce the settlement, saying a former employee is trying to reopen the suit in state court and shouldn't be allowed to do so.

Walgreen Co. settled nine consolidated wage-and-hour class actions for $23 million in California federal court on Tuesday, brought by employees who accused the company of failing to pay overtime for mandatory security checks and not allowing adequate rest periods.
