    Northwestern Mutual Reaches $84M Class Settlement

    Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co. ended a six-and-a-half-year class action legal battle in Wisconsin federal court on Monday when it agreed to a preliminary $84 million settlement with annuities owners over allegations that the company wrongfully tweaked the program in 1985, unfairly diminishing the value of the investments.
