5th Circ. Affirms MERS, BofA Win On Texas Deed Recording
The Fifth Circuit has upheld a Texas federal court's dismissal of a suit filed by three counties alleging Merscorp Holdings Inc. and Bank of America Corp. squeezed them out of deed-recording fees, saying the companies' mortgage registration practices didn't defraud them since such recording is optional in Texas.
