A Florida federal judge refused Wednesday to strip claims from a suit accusing CenturyTel Broadband Services LLC of willfully infringing Brandywine Communications Technologies LLC's DSL technology patents after finding evidence CenturyTel knew of the patents before the suit was filed.

A Florida federal judge on Monday refused to disqualify Brandywine Communications Technologies LLC's counsel in its patent suit against CenturyTel Broadband Services LLC, ruling the firm's relationship with a CenturyTel supplier's counsel did not preclude it from representing Brandywine.
