Two former Thornburg Mortgage executives headed for a retrial on U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission claims that they misled investors and auditors in connection with $428 million in financial-crisis-era losses slammed the agency's witness disclosure tactics Wednesday, demanding that 17 witnesses be struck after "an unseemly display of hide-the-ball tactics."
