A Washington D.C. federal judge on Tuesday once again tossed a whistleblower's False Claims Act suit against Verizon over its subsidiaries' billing practices, holding the action should be dismissed because a related lawsuit filed by the whistleblower was still pending when his complaint was filed.

A federal judge ruled Thursday that a relator couldn't bring a second qui tam suit over Verizon Communications Inc. subsidiaries' billing practices because it was too similar to another suit he brought, which ended in Verizon paying a $93.5 million settlement.
