A Wyoming federal judge on Monday threw out challenges to federally issued coal mining leases for Peabody Energy Corp. and Arch Coal units, finding the U.S. Bureau of Land Management and Forest Service properly addressed environmental concerns.

A Wyoming federal judge on Thursday allowed environmental groups challenging coal mining leases in the Thunder Basin National Grassland to add a recently granted lease to its suit against the U.S. Forest Service, finding the supplemental pleading will not unduly burden the government or delay the case.
