Lenovo Convinces Judge To Nix Software Patents Under Alice
An Oregon federal judge on Thursday struck down a pair of Tranxition Inc. software patents that had been asserted against Lenovo Inc.'s American arm, saying the patents claimed the abstract idea of transferring settings between computers, making them invalid under the U.S. Supreme Court's Alice framework.

Lenovo (United States) Inc. on Tuesday asked an Oregon federal court to find invalid two Tranxition Inc. software patents it is accused of infringing, saying the patents are abstract and unpatentable under the U.S. Supreme Court's Alice Corp. decision.
