A Washington federal judge on Thursday let Rite Aid Corp. and a subsidiary from out of a $60 million suit accusing them of breaching rent contracts, saying that the developer who sued them misrepresented his assets in a bankruptcy proceeding.

A Washington federal judge on Tuesday trimmed a number of claims from a lawsuit brought against Rite Aid Corp. and Thrifty PayLess Inc. for allegedly breaching rent contracts and racking up $60 million in unpaid rent and contractors' out-of-pocket expenses through a "preferred developer" scheme.
