Kirkland Atty's 'Gratuitous' Statement Forces New Patent Trial
Goodman Global Inc. won its bid for a new trial after a jury found it had violated a heating and air conditioning patent when a Delaware federal judge determined Wednesday that a Kirkland & Ellis LLP attorney made unnecessary and "gratuitous" statements during trial suggesting that Goodman copied Carrier Corp.'s product.
