A former Bank of America Corp. executive was sentenced on Monday to 26 months in federal prison for his role in a municipal bond-related bid-rigging scheme that ensnared several major banks and resulted in numerous convictions and guilty pleas, according to federal prosecutors.

A North Carolina federal judge on Tuesday denied a bid by a former Bank of America Corp. municipal bonds investor to dismiss a suit alleging he rigged a bidding system in order to steer more contracts to the bank.
