Judge Exits $1.2B 'Pink Slime' Defamation Case
A South Dakota federal judge recused himself Monday from a $1.2 billion defamation suit against American Broadcasting Cos. Inc. and journalist Diane Sawyer over news coverage of the beef trimmings product referred to by critics as "pink slime," citing an undisclosed potential conflict of interest.
