Pepperidge Farm Inc. asked a Colorado federal judge Friday to halt a class action accusing it of misleading consumers by marketing its cheddar Goldfish crackers as "natural" despite the use of genetically modified ingredients, saying government regulators are currently weighing the issue.

Pepperidge Farm Inc. was hit with a putative class action in Colorado federal court on Tuesday accusing it of deceptively advertising its cheddar Goldfish crackers as being "natural" even though they actually contain genetically modified soybean oil.
