Thomson Reuters Corp. has reached a settlement with a former analyst in a whistleblower suit alleging the multinational news wire service fired him for reporting suspected insider trading violations to the FBI, according to court documents filed on Monday.

A New York federal judge on Friday denied a bid from Thomson Reuters Corp. to escape a suit brought by one of its former employees claiming he was fired for leaking insider trading violations to the government, finding that the employee had made a sufficient case to claim protection as a whistleblower.
