A North Carolina federal judge on Monday dismissed a patent infringement suit alleging that Syngenta Crop Protection LLC's Appear fungicide product had ripped off a patented chemical compound owned by Bayer CropScience Inc.

A North Carolina federal judge imposed a preliminary injunction Monday barring Syngenta Crop Protection LLC from selling a fungicide targeted by a Bayer CropScience Inc. patent infringement suit, saying Bayer had a good chance of winning its case.
