    Awareness Of ESA Status Not A Must For Prosecution: Judge

    An Arizona federal judge on Wednesday told the U.S. Department of Justice to more vigorously prosecute individuals who kill endangered wildlife, agreeing with environmental groups' argument that the DOJ's current policy to prosecute only if they can prove the defendant knew the animal was endangered is arbitrary and violates the Administrative Procedure Act.
