A class of Florida consumers who were ready to settle with Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and TracFone Wireless Inc. over the companies' alleged false advertising of prepaid phone services urged a federal judge Thursday to deny three California proposed classes from intervening in the suit.

Plaintiffs in three putative class actions in California claiming Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and TracFone Wireless Inc. falsely advertised prepaid phone services moved to intervene in a similar suit in Florida federal court on Wednesday, criticizing a proposed settlement in that suit and seeking a stay or dismissal.
