4th Circ. Revives $13M Liberty Mutual Bad-Faith Verdict
The Fourth Circuit on Monday reinstated a jury's $12.5 million verdict finding Liberty Mutual Fire Insurance Co. acted in bad faith when settling five underlying property-damage suits against a window and door manufacturer, ruling the insurer need not have caused actual damages to be liable for punitive damages.
