A former high-ranking U.S. Environmental Protection Agency official who has admitted to stealing nearly $900,000 from the government while posing as a CIA agent was sentenced to 32 months in prison by a Washington federal judge on Wednesday.

The former high-ranking U.S. Environmental Protection Agency official who has pled guilty to defrauding the agency of nearly $900,000 while pretending to be a CIA spy isn't receiving leniency from the government, which on Thursday requested he receive a jail sentence of 30-37 months.

A former high-ranking U.S. Environmental Protection Agency official pled guilty Friday to stealing nearly $900,000 in undeserved salary, benefits and bonuses paid to him while he claimed he worked on a Central Intelligence Agency task group.
