A group of Washington, D.C., construction companies asked a Maryland federal court Thursday to dismiss a whistleblower from his False Claims Act lawsuit accusing them of underpaying workers on Smithsonian reconstruction projects, saying the man can no longer assert claims after filing for bankruptcy protection.
