Cantaloupe farmers Eric and Ryan Jensen, who pled guilty to allowing a Listeria outbreak that killed 33 people in 2011, were sentenced Tuesday to six months of home detention, five years of probation and $150,000 in restitution.

Farmers Of Tainted Fruit Say Prison Sentence Is Excessive
Two brothers who pled guilty to charges related to a deadly 2011 listeria outbreak linked to tainted cantaloupes from their farm told a Colorado federal court Tuesday that jail time is unnecessary since they have already done everything they can do to make things right.
