The California Institute of Technology has agreed to dismiss patent infringement claims against Hughes Communications Inc. and Dish Network Corp. over four patents related to digital satellite transmission after the parties entered into licensing agreements, according to court papers filed Wednesday in California federal court.

Dish Network Corp. and Hughes Communications Inc. on Tuesday managed to skirt some of the claims alleging their satellite Internet services infringe four error correction code patents held by the California Institute of Technology, although most of the case remains intact in California federal court.
