    An Illinois federal judge on Tuesday handed a key victory to a Mexican auto parts manufacturing joint venture that accused its U.S. parent Meritor Heavy Vehicle Systems LLC of breaching a contract allowing it to exclusively manufacture Meritor axles, brakes and other products for sale to original equipment manufacturers in Mexico.

    Automotive parts manufacturer Meritor Heavy Vehicle Systems LLC on Friday hit metals producer Quimmco SA De CV with a suit in Illinois federal court, claiming the company has violated their joint venture by planning to manufacture axles rather than simply assembling them as established in their agreement.
