Cigna Health and Life Insurance Co. and Connecticut General Life Insurance Co. asked a Maryland federal court on Thursday to consolidate 13 cases as they all allege that a number of health care facilities were involved in a vast conspiracy to overcharge the two Cigna Corp. units.

A Maryland federal judge on Wednesday trimmed several claims from a $20 million suit alleging Surgical Center Development Inc. and 20 ambulatory surgery centers were involved in a vast conspiracy to overcharge two Cigna Corp. units.
