The federal government will pay $125,000 in attorneys' fees to close out a lawsuit in Washington federal court alleging Seattle and Tacoma immigration courts had a policy of categorically denying requests for conditional parole, according to court documents filed Friday.

A class of immigrants who argue that immigration judges only considered bonds, not conditional parole, for their cases said Friday that the Executive Office for Immigration Review must submit quarterly reports to implement an order that the option must be considered for future cases.

A Washington federal judge on Monday ordered immigration judges in Seattle and Tacoma to start considering conditional parole for immigrants hoping to leave detention, rather than monetary bonds, and granted class certification and judgment to plaintiffs accusing the courts of requiring a bond of at least $1,500.
