FTC Says Credit Monitor Will Pay $22M For Duping Customers

The Federal Trade Commission announced Wednesday that Texas-based One Technologies LP has agreed to pay $22 million to end a probe into its practice of luring consumers to its site with the promise of a "free" credit score, without adequately disclosing that upon receiving their scores they were automatically enrolled in a $30-per-month credit monitoring program.
