The owner of a company that brokered natural gas delivery to Northrop Grumman Corp. pled guilty Tuesday in Maryland federal court to fraudulently overbilling the defense giant for more than $11.2 million over at least 10 years.

Northrop Grumman urged a Maryland federal judge on Monday to keep as a defendant in an $11 million fraud suit the son of a former natural gas supplier, saying he knew of and benefited from his father's alleged bilking as a signatory on numerous bank accounts.

Northrop Grumman Systems Corp. on Friday blasted natural gas supplier UGI Energy Services LLC's bid to intervene in its $11 million fraud suit against a Maryland energy broker accused of inflating prices to the contractor, saying UGI's claims in the suit involve completely different transactions.
