Satellite communications provider Hughes Network Systems LLC on Monday said the Israeli defense contractor accusing it of infringing patents for satellite Internet technology wrongly relies on a decade-old patent citation and urged a Texas federal judge to dismiss some of the claims.

An Israeli defense contractor and its U.S. affiliate on Wednesday waged an intellectual property assault in Texas federal court accusing satellite communications provider Hughes Network Systems LLC and its customers in the energy and hospitality sectors of infringing its patents for satellite Internet technology.
