Interior Dept. Settles Green Suits With Mine Review Promise
The U.S. Department of the Interior settled two lawsuits in Tennessee federal court Thursday with promises from the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and the Office of Surface Mining, Reclamation and Enforcement to reassess three mines in the state that environmentalists say weren't adequately scrutinized for wildlife impact.
