Former Welder's Radiation Suit Against GE Preempted
A California federal judge on Wednesday tossed a former welder's suit alleging General Electric Co. caused his brain degeneration and dementia by exposing him to excessive radiation while he worked at nuclear reactors, saying the claims run afoul of a federal law governing liability for nonmilitary nuclear facilities.
