Since the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in February that state professional regulatory boards are not inherently shielded from antitrust challenges, a number of suits have piled into federal courts across the country, arguing that everything from rules requiring background checks for taxi app service drivers to disciplinary actions over dog vaccine doses thwart competition.
