A California federal judge agreed Tuesday to dismiss a proposed class action accusing male dating service Grindr LLC of violating state laws by not giving premium services users a contract opt-out, saying the consumers failed to allege injuries but can take another shot at it.

Grindr LLC, an online dating service catering to gay men, asked a California federal court on Tuesday to toss a proposed class action by a member of Grindr's paid service, saying a 1989 law governing matchmaking services doesn't apply to its smartphone app.
