    Power Co. Reaches $627M Deal In Emissions Spat With EPA

    The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on Wednesday reached a settlement with Interstate Power and Light wherein the company agrees to spend $620 million on refurbishments of its seven Iowa coal power plants and $6 million on environmental mitigation, and pay $1.1 million for alleged violations of the Clean Air Act.
